Sometimes I Think About Adam Brody

Sometimes I think about Adam Brody. And I'm not saying that today is one of those days, I'm just saying that sometimes it happens.

Sometimes I think about his role on the Gilmore Girls and about how he was the sweetest guest they ever had. I think about how I wish his character had become a permanent cast member so that Adam Brody wouldn't have had to leave Connecticut for California, i.e. The O.C.

And, naturally, whenever I think about The O.C., I come to the conclusion that the only reason why I watched it was to see Adam Brody, and then I think about how I can't believe I put up with it for two whole seasons.

Except I can, because, you know, Adam Brody.

And then I think about how weird it is that Adam Brody is usually cast as a nerd, when—in fact—he is very, very not. I suppose it's because of that cute stammery voice thing.

But I'm not buying the nerd act.

And then I remember that Adam Brody WAS cast as a cool guy in Jennifer's Body, and then I remember that I was disappointed by Jennifer's Body. That despite a perfect premise and perfect casting (especially Adam Brody), it fell flat. But it did give Adam Brody a cool guy role, which was evident because they gave him cool guy eyeliner.

And then I think about Billie Joe Armstrong from Green Day, who's been doing the cool guy eyeliner thing for the last few years, and then I remember the earlier days when he was more attractive, and then I think that Billie Joe Armstrong should seriously consider dropping the makeup and leaving it to a younger generation of guys.

Guys like Adam Brody.

And then, inevitably, I think about how nice it would have been to have dated a guy like Adam Brody in high school. And how the only possible way to convince me to spend a day back inside my old school would be if I could sit in a math class behind Adam Brody. I would ignore the problems on the board and jump whenever the teacher called on me, because I would be completely distracted.

Distracted by Adam Brody.

Sometimes I think about Adam Brody. I'm not saying today is one of those days, but—sometimes—it happens.

  1. Best blogpost in the history of blogposts.
Especially since I don't think about Adam Brody as often as I used to, but he's been on my mind lately.

  2. Oh, man. Why did no one tell me Adam Brody was in Jennifer's Body wearing guyliner?!

    *rents immediately*

(the word verification for me is "inerd" - why yes, blogger, I do.)

  3. Oh! The guyliner distracted me so much I forgot to say that I loved Adam Brody on Gilmore Girls and wish he'd stayed longer. I loved Zach as well, though.

  4. He's not British or short, but Adam definitely has √Čtienne hair. Thanks bunches- I want to go watch Gilmore Girls now. There goes my night of productivity!

Sometimes I think about how I have seen the movie Grind more than I would ever admit because of Adam Brody. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SgHVuE87nCc
Sometimes I think of Adam Brody in Mr & Mrs smith wearing a Fight Club T-Shirt

  6. Every once in a while, I'm just like you and can't help but think about Adam Brody. Like when I watched a rerun of Smallville last night and Adam Brody happened to be a guest star. It's like "the game" where you don't realize you're thinking about the game...until it's mentioned out loud. I'm not saying this time is one of THOSE times when I think about Adam Brody, I'm just saying sometimes that happens. :)

  8. I THINK ABOUT ADAM BRODY ALL THE TIME. I was having this conversation just the other day with my best friends (and twitter). Where has he been?? How can people resist casting him in EVERYTHING??

    We demand more BRODY!

  9. As if I couldn't like you more! The episode when Dave convinces Mrs. Kim to let him take Lane to the prom was on today and just...*dies* when he makes his speech and then spends the whole night reading the bible. SOOOOO cute!

  10. It's sad that Adam Brody is only in really bad TV and film because he is really adorable!

I did love him in Jennifer's Body as the creepy band leader though. But I agree with you. That movie was not good.

  11. I'm friends with Adam Brody on FB (true story). I just posted the link to this post on his wall. Hopefully he'll check it out. Great post. Adam Brody is seriously hot.

  13. I love him in Gilmore Girls and In The Land of Women. And anywhere. He is worth thinking about from time to time.

    on Adam Brody!

  15. This is like sweet crushable poetry that I feel you stole from my brain with a massive except for the Jennifer's Body falling flat part. Respectfully disagree. My only qualm with the movie is the fact that "You're killing people." "No, I'm killing boys." was in the trailer and not the movie.

PS In The Land of Women has been endured maaaany times for the Adam Brody one liners. Happy to see I'm not alone on this. :)

  16. haha the amount of posts i have dedicated to this strange adonis. well not adonis, hermes perhaps. yeah, he's so hermes, he needs some flying shoes.
i wonder out of what desperation in life would adam brody want to be part of a movie like jennifer's body.
i am quite in love with him and his hair. oh man.
i think he's the kind of guy every girl wants to date once in her life, but just for a while.

  17. I had an inspiring, profound comment all lined up. And then I looked at the pictures again and my brain kinda went to mush. So...

    *drools*

  18. Awww, Adam Brody. <3 He's the only reason I sat through In the Land of the Women or whatever that horrid movie was called. The only reason.

  19. I'm an old fogey who had no idea who this guy is, but I loved this post! Too fun.

  21. I love Adam Brody, too. My current guilty crush is Ian Somerhalder, but Adam is never quite forgotten. Especially with the spiderman mask. Or when he spent the entire night going through the Bible, looking for Mrs. Kim's quote. Adorable <3

i watched the first season of the o.c. way back and i kept thinking "this is total crap" yet i kept watching ... because of adam brody.

  25. I can't hear "Hello Sunshine" without thinking about the scene where Seth and Summer made out, and, um, wishing I were Summer. Adam Brody is definitely swoon-worthy.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Even the comic book nerd Seth had me crushing on Adam Brody :D

    ReplyDelete
  27. He's in an episode of Smallville, which doesn't disappoint. I loved him even as a murdering super-villain (well, sort of villian-like). :)

  28. I totally just now figured out that Adam Brody and Dave from Gilmore Girls are THE SAME PERSON. How in the hell? But it answers so much! Like why Lane all of a sudden was not dating him and did not care! And why Hep Alien had to find a new lead guitarist (aka Gil)!

Wow. And I thought today wouldn't be productive since I'm still in PJs at 1PM.

  29. I can always count on you to think about cute boys that brighten my day. But not nearly as much as you do, pretty lady.

So glad your release party was fab. If all those pesky states weren't in between, I would have been there!

  30. You know just how to brighten my day. Darn I miss Adam Brody. And he really was the only reason I watched The O.C., but I fell in love with him on Gilmore Girls.

I've decided that you have the best taste in guys, like, ever. You adore the hottest celebrities, and Jared seems to be made of awesome too! Good choices all around.

"I don't drink soda because the carbonation freaks me out."
Aaaaaah. Adam Brody on Gilmore Girls. Yet another reason to watch Season 3 over and over and over again (the other reason is Jess, obviously).

  32. Adam Brody count: 14.
When a post contains more than one mention of Adam Brody, it is awesome. I guess your post is just awesome to the 14th power; so awesome that only the picture of Adam Brody can block out the awesome light blinding me, so thank god you included those as well. yummy post.

  33. I wish he had stayed on Gilmore Girls too. It is my understanding that his character was MEANT to--as he was based on the real Lane (i.e. Helen)'s husband--but then he was cast in the O.C. and they had to scramble to find Lane a mate. I can't say I ever warmed up to the idea of her and Zach. Dave was perfect.

  34. I have to admit, I have never even heard of Adam Brody but now that I have, I see the devastating distraction he can be. Thanks for introducing him to me. Mmm. Anyway, I asked for "Anna and the French Kiss" for Christmas. Can't wait to devour the beautiful pages--metaphorically speaking of course.

  35. this is the most beautiful post in the world.

  36. Ummm...yeah. So it has been awhile since you posted this. However, stumbling upon this old post of yours brought a huge smile to my face.

Thanks for brightening up my evening!

  37. Oh my God!! I thought I was the only one that had random Adam Brody days?? He is exactly the kind of guy you wished haunted the halls in high school.
