What time is it? Is that A.M. or P.M.?

This is the face of someone who knows what she is talking about.

Oh, hello.

This appears to be MY BLOG. What ON EARTH am I doing with a BLOG? Have I had this for very long?

Five years? Really??

Do you hear that? That humming noise? What IS that? I'm confused. You don't hear it?

So I haven't left my house in a while, yet I've still managed to:

(A) Get a sunburn.
(B) Put a live beetle into my mouth.

WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME?

WHY WON'T THIS DRAFT OF LOLA END?? HOW IS IT POSSIBLE THAT I AM STILL WRITING IT???

EXCLAMATION POINTS!!!!!!!!

Lettuce attack! Blubberfish!! Tootsie Rolls!!!

  2. *giggles*

This was the perfect way to end the night. You crack me up.

And dude, I got a weird sunburn too. Since I haven't left my house in like, well, it's too depressing to say, I went out in the sun for, I dunno, 15 minutes. I had a sweater on (cause it was sunny but not warm) and somehow managed to sunburn my scalp and THE TOPS OF MY HANDS because it was the only skin exposed. And let me tell you, sunburned hands are NOT fun. They're still peeling a little. *sighs*

Good luck with Lola. I know you'll pwn it soon. :)

  4. Not your lettuce too! My suspicion is that it's a chlorophyll-eating virus that is spread by the common lady-bug and causes violent mutations in all vegetable-type food.

The best cause of action is to isolate said lettuce and contact the authorities as soon as possible.

    Be alert, but not alarmed.

  5. *hugs* You're almost there. You're almost there (Hey, if I lie about things like this to make myself feel better, I can make you feel better too, right? And you probably are almost there).

Tell Chris or the wee hottie scottie that you need pie with vanilla ice cream. They taste better than beetles. ;o)

I LOVE that picture of you. It always makes me smile.

    What Is that humming noise?

  7. Lettuce attack...? No, you need lettuce WRAPS. From P.F. Chang's. They always manage to calm me down.

Looks like LOLA is definitely your problem child, huh? Feel better. One problem child per parent, that's the rule. :)

  8. You know I automatically took it to mean that Coraline knew what she was talking about. Then it occured to me you might have meant yourself. lol!

  9. See my last two Friday posts about writers who took years and years to write their novels...I think it'll make you feel a lot better because it definitely isn't taking you that long!

  13. Good luck finishing! After reading your hilarious post on Kiersten's blog (btw, did you know that Amazon has both your book and Kiersten's as a Better Together deal?), I decided to find your website, and now I've stumbled on your blog. Though I may have to exit out as I don't think I can keep myself from laughing out loud while reading your blog posts.

I read your FAQ- Meg Cabot is awesome!! I love her and did an interview with her on my blog last week. She's so sweet!

Also, I find it awesome that you live in North Carolina because there's not many authors that live around my area. I'm in southern VA. If you ever have a signing in NC, I'll totally be there.

Anyway, I'll stop rambling and go.

  18. I think that humming noise is the sound of silence. I hear it all the time when everyone else is sleeping in my house. Maybe it's the hum of all the machines that are still on? Maybe I am talking about something else, but I hear it all the time and it is sooo weird. :)
p.s- You'll get through this draft... it has to end sometime. Good luck!!!

  21. I ended up on your page because of your agent (same as maureen johnson's) and i read some old posts and I loved them (the ones with all your boyfriends were really funny). I think I love you already and I haven't even read your books. I'm looking forward to, though
