Stephanie Perkins Blog About Stephanie Books On Writing News Extras

6.18.2010

What an author looks like when she receives her very first copies of her book ever.

P.S. These prettyprettypretty ARCs have already been claimed. But one of them is for YOU! I'll hold a contest later this summer.

P.P.S. Yes, I still have the blue streaks! I plan on staying blue for at least another year. If you look closely at the back of my head, you'll see a hint of turquoise underneath my roots. They're still quite visible from the side and when my hair is down. (Proof, which I had to provide for my friend Amy.) I'm two months overdue for redyeing, because of that whole Lola debacle. But this is what I look like as a natural redhead!

P.P.P.S. If you haven't read yesterday's post, please do. It explains what I've been up to. And now I'm going back to work.

The last one is definitely the best. Caption: "I'm in love with this book, and I wrote it." ;)

It just needs to be said how much I love the side of your book the Eiffel Tower...the swirls...the green. I love it so much! I would totally by this book for its cover.

The look on your face in the last pic is like, "I'm so happily blissful!" Looks like a wedding pic.

Can't wait for the contests. Paranormalcy and Anna are my two most anticipated 2010 releases.

That is such a pretty cover - and more importantly, definitely one that'll get picked up. :) I love it! :) And I love how happy you look in these pictures, too. Congratulations!!! :D

I love your blue, Steph, but you are one gorgeous redhead. These are great pictures. *sigh* I only want to borrow one for a day. Then I could wait for my own in December.

Must. Get. ARC.

*twitches with want*

I am ALL OVER this mysterious ARC contest, girl. All over it.

PS: You look so gorgeous in those photos! Those books really make your eyes POP. You should carry them with you all the time so your eyes always POP. Make a necklace out of one or something.

Woohoo! Congrats that's awesome! They look so yummy, which is weird to say, I know, but they totally do! Please have your giveaway now!

Also, thanks for letting us know about your hair, I was also concerned that the blue was gone!

Aw sweetie, your baby is beautiful!!!

(It kind of IS like holding your baby for the first time. Somehow strangely familiar and yet completely magical and mind blowing.)

Soooo happy for you.

How exciting! I can't help but feel giddy FOR you just by looking at how happy you are in those pictures.

Glad to know you're still rockin' the blue streaks. Thanks to you, I now want to try it, but alas, I think that might be frowned upon in the conservative Catholic school where I teach.

Oh my gosh, yay! Super exciting! Those are some beautiful books right there.

I kinda like your hair natural, but the blue is awesome too. I've always wanted blue streaks, but my hair is too dark for them to show up, I think. Plus, people will think I'm fourteen instead of twenty-three (they already think I'm sixteen, but in the eyes of my neighbors only baby teens would die their hair an awesome color. Poo to them!)

Anyway, I'm very happy about those books. Maybe I want the one you're giving away too.

Yay exciting and congratulations! Anna is beautiful, and so is your natural red headedness, although the blue is such fun.

I'm looking forward to the contest, but given the odds, I'm looking forward to when Anna officially debuts more. (December, right? I'm going to Paris in January with my school's art dept. . . . I may have to take a copy of Anna along :) )

How exciting! I can't wait to read the book. You look fabulous with the natural red hair. I am partial to redheads. I have 2 of my own.

This is awesome Stephanie! And what an AWESOME fulfilling reward for the TONS of work you've done for this/these book(s). I hope you have many many more cuddling sessions with your ARCs so that you're all practiced up for when the final glorious copies arrive!

Yayyyyyyyyyy!!!!!! happy happy happy!!! I can't wait to go into Powell's and BUY it! The amount that I love this book is surpassed only by how much my teenage self would have loved it :-)

(You look adorable, but in need of baked goods. French baked goods by the platterful, fed to you by Jarrod and a queue of HBMs!)
